I varied steps 6-8 of this pattern. But when I finished the garment and put it on it was all worth it as I really do like the style of this skirt! The pocket gathers ( pic 2 if you can see it properly) and buttons go well. Also I like that it can be worn casual with a vest and flats like the main picture or jazzed up with heels and fitted blouse/top and cardigan etc so 10/10 for style-ability (if that’s a word lol) but 3/10 for the way the pattern suggests to fit the zipper and waist band.
Steps 6-8 adjustments were:
Zippper- I moved this to the side, I could not understand WHY you would have a zipper behind the front panel?? on the inside ( yes inside) of the skirt…. huh??
Waist band – I halved the width as it was too high for me.
The pattern suggests heavy tweed I used cotton and it worked well. Next time I will also be using cotton not a heavy material as it may be a bit hard to do the pocket gathers even (for me).
