Burda Style For people who sew
Description
My sister wanted some easy and comfortable sundresses for her barnyard wedding. It was a lot of fun because each girl got their own spin on a similar dress, and i was so happy we decided on short cotton dresses because boy o boy was it hot that day, i think it hit about 35 Degrees C. Got to love winnipeg weather!

sorry about the SUPER late response. i just realized you have left this comment here. I don’t have time to make a tutorial but basically what i did was made the front of the dress fitted as per usual. And then eliminated all the back bodice pieces, and replaced it with two REALLY long ties. super easy!
the skirt is attatched to the bodice in the front, and free standing with a sturdy waistband in the back!

This is such a creative idea and a cute ensemble! I really like the tied back detail. What is the color of the dresses? It looks like a sage? Congratulations to your sister!

thanks so much for the compliments. It was a dark slate blue colour, and the patterned bits were a deep navy with an adorbale dotted motif. not a polka dot though. it was a bunch of fun to make them, and i am happy to hear all the nice feedback from people!
