Burda Style For people who sew
Description
I applied gathered collar for this coat. I was worried about the collar if I could sew it well try not to stretch the neck line because the fabric was thick and also the collar would be very thick from gather. And yes, it actually happened. Usually basting thread is used to make gather and take it out after stitching. So I did. but I should have been more careful. If you have a chance to make collar (with thick fabric) like this, just remember that you should use thick and strong thread and never take it (seam side of) out after. I was able to fix it anyway. phew~ :)
I put a small pillow inside of the collar to make it keep in 3D. I like this idea and it went well.

Yes, this is my own pattern. I haven’t gone out with this coat yet but if someone asked me like that, I would say “I made up”, of course :)

I love the shape of your coat. And what a great idea to put the pillow so the collar would keep it’s shape! I would never have thought of it, but I will remember. Did you make your own pattern? If not, which one is it?

I make patterns. This collar is actually quite easy to make. cos this collar pattern is just rectangular:)
