I made these two pencil cases using scraps from my Nolli top as feature panels. They were self-drafted using a pencil case bought at Muji as a guide (see image with three pencil cases). I decided to line them using a lighter colored cotton and to use bias binding on the internal seams. The plain black and beige cottons were heavier-weight quilting cottons.
I gave them as Christmas presents: one to my younger brother who is starting an environmental mapping course, and one to my boyfriend who is an architect. My boyfriend has been using his as an everyday purse, so I take it he likes it! ;)
