This skirt was carved out of an old hideous mu-mu like dress that I found at a local goodwill. I loved the spanish style lace that covered the thing and knew I would use it somehow.
About a month later I decided to turn it into a couture skirt for my university’s spring fashion show and added tulle and an ostrich feather for extra pizazz!
This was the first time I had ever made a couture inspired garment and am very proud of my piece!
Unfortunately I did not get any pictures of this on the night of the runway show, and only have some of myself in it.
cotton, elastic thread, tulle, feather, patience!

That fabric was definitely worth saving. Good eye and good transformation!

I LOVE this skirt! It looks so amazing! I would totally wear this just every day! (Well, maybe minus the feather!) I bet your modle looked awesome in it! And what a great eye – I never would have thought to buy an ugly mu-mu like dress!
