The stripes make me a little dizzy.
Loosely fitted knit cardigan with slouchy collar. I drafted this from the Japanese pattern drafting magazine Mrs. Stylebook April 2010, issue #158, pp 29 and 165.
The mismatched buttons were from those spare buttons usually found sewn on the seams of wool coats or jackets. They serve a purpose and that’s to keep the front facings from flapping. I’ll modify the facings to extend all the way to the front armholes and side seams.
I sewed the knit interfacing to the front facings rather than fuse it to keep it from getting that orange-peel look. I was careful to press only the seams during construction.
The back neck seam allowances were finished with a vintage rayon binding.
cotton/Lycra blend; coat buttons; vintage rayon bias binding
