I made long cardigan and I can wear it as well as dress. Pattern is from here and I modified as a long cardigan(Free pattern, everything Japanese):http://www.polkadrops.com/category/free-pattern/image/mens_all.pdf
The pattern is actually MENS, but because this is Japanese pattern, it is quite small. M size is like S size, L size is like M size. Seamallowance is not included, I just used M size without seamallowance, then it suits me, maybe that is Women’s M size or a bit smaller.

I like long cardigans worn over mini skirts or narrow pants. Works well as a dress too! Neat!
