Description
At first, I wanted to copy a dress I saw in a shop, but wasn’t well fitted.
Then I found this gorgeous fabric. Then I decided to add buttons. And ruffles. And pockets. By the way, it’s the first time I sew in-seams pockets, they’re not as easy at they look!
It took me quite a long time, I decided to put more care in that one because of the fabric: I love it so much!
The pattern is Simplicity 4399, just like the pink pink pink! dress.
Material Notes
Madras, self covered buttons (in a kit, that was so easy!), zipper, thread.

Those colours are unreal! The angled grain of the check pattern reminds me of Vivienne Westwood. I’d love to see this styled to look punk influenced.

Oh my…I absolutely love that fabric. And the dress is fantastic too. I love all the extra details. I wanted to try in-seam pockets on a similar style dress I made earlier this summer, but ended up chickening out. Good job!

Thanks :D
The fabric is from a big shop in Paris, “Tissus Reine” in Montmartre. Now I regret I didn’t buy more !

What a Fu. Dress! I love the covered buttons. This is not a beginner project, and you did a great job sticking with it. I am sure you learned a ton. Have fun wearing it.
