I absolutely am obsessed with this dress. I haven’t made many dresses that I really love to wear and/or can wear often, so I am pretty sure this will be a summer staple.
I used the Stylish Dress Book volume 3 again because it is the only pattern book I brought with me to NC. This is pattern G seriously modified. I considered adding pockets but the fabric is so thin I think it would have taken away from the design. Next time I use this pattern I definitely will!
I really loved this project because I got to work with a plaid and match up lines in the waist, sides, bodice and hem. I especially love how perfectly the front bodice and its facing matches!
I kind of wish I had taken the time to do a blind hem, but other than that I am very happy, and cant wait to pair it with other belts and accessories!

Eee, so cute! I love love love gingham right now, and the sheath style is so cute and fresh! You’re lucky to have found cotton gingham; at JoAnn in the basics section there is only the awful thin poly/cotton stuff in every color and check size. Blech! I long for the nice cotton of a JCrew check shirt…

thank you, it is seeming to be. I can’t wait to layer with it for early fall. And I already wore it out on a movie date!

Thanks! It seems in making garments is the only time I have the patience for such detail.

Luv it! I have been making dresses for the summer in the hopes that I will eventually wear one; still not happening… however, this dress I think I would feel more comfy in adventuring into the jeans to dress crossover.
