It seems like capes/cloaks/capelets are in fashion right now. There are many beautiful and colorful examples out there. Mine is a more distressed style, refashioned from a 2nd hand suede long coat bought at a local consignment store, lined with wool fabric from a thrifted men’s plaid jacket. I share my process (but it’s not a tutorial) on my new blog
The inspiration came from the blog One Pearl Button back when I was searching the net for refashion ideas. :)
Old suede long coat (with faux fur collar)
Thrifted men’s plaid wool jacket
Leather sewing needle (or upholstery/denim ones i suppose)

Regular polyester covered thread to patchwork the lining
