Cape Hatteras dress

Added Mar 26, 2009

by beccers

Pittsburgh, Penn...

Nautical-inspired, sporty, a little preppy and totally comfortable! This dress is made of rich cotton jersey trimmed with handmade seersucker bias tape and a matching double-wrap sash. My favorite part: the dress has a built-in shelf bra!

Material Notes

Cotton jersey, cotton seersucker, elastic

So, I’ve been on the hunt for something with a shelf-bra built in. . . . Think you could help me out in that department? This dress is great.

So beautiful! I love the sash and the binding :) :) :) Oh, and please tell us more about the built-in shelf bra. Is this like a bra you sewed in or some kind of pads between the lining and the right fabric? I hope you will have some nice weather soon to go outside in this dress!

I love the back. The dress is very flattering on you and what a great color. The subtle contrast binding is nice, too. I would like to try that and will have to hope my sewing is neat enough to pull it off!
