I really enjoyed the challenge of making this dress and although it definitely isn’t perfect I do love wearing it. It feels quite a sexy dress with a pair of heels and black back seamed tights on. I made it initially for a secret cinema fancy dress event and I needed something 40’s and it kind of fitted the bill with a bit of a change of hair and make-up (I added a pic although you can’t see the dress so well). I had a lot of fitting problems with the dress. It was huge on the top and I had to size it down quite considerably. I know I should have done a muslin but this is something I am not particularly good at! In the end it worked although it isn’t quite as good at the back as it could be. I learnt a lot making this and it’s one of the most challenging dresses I have made so far so I am very proud of it.
