Description
Summer dress, easy to make, some skill required in placing bias cur ribbons around the neck and lower arm opening to avoid rough edges. I also sewed on white ribbon on the inside of the lower end dress seam to make it stand better and add some weight. Of course, this is a large size – I enlarged the orginal biggest size (44) to my size 48. Verys easily done, no additional alterations on fabric had to be done, which means the pattern is really good. I’ve learned to sew in the 1980s, using a Burda how-to book and lots of Burda and the then popular Neue Mode patterns.
Material Notes
IKEA decor fabric. I liked the flower pattern so much, but instead of a sun deck chair pillow decided to use it for a dress instead. Hope you think it was a good idea too!

lovely dress. and great use of the ikea fabric. how did you do the alteration in size? I’d be interested in doing it in a lager size.

AMAZING! I’m resisting the urge to run to Ikea and copy your idea right now! This is a great example of making the fabric do all the work. Elegant and beautiful.

Pretty! Beautifully made.
I also made a dress in this fabric (the ‘Royksopp Dress’), and it’s lovely to wear and attracts a lot of compliments as it’s such a striking print. It wears just like a denim dress really!
