Los Angeles, Cal...

Cotton/Lycra summer dress. It has a raw hem…only because I was too lazy to actually hem it and moreover, I was short on fabric sooooo this dress was too short to hem as it is :)
It has a side zipper and I basically modified the Burda Franzi vest pattern 9302 for the top and the bottom is just a gathered skirt with in seam pockets.

Material Notes

Less than 2 yards of Cotton/Lycra fabric, an invisable zipper and some peach colored bias tape for the back of the neck and arms.

Garment Type
Beach, Casual
Cotton, Other

Me and Micahel Levine for the $1 per yard fabric

I am always so inspired by sewers like you who can translate a basic pattern into something with a completely different mood and style, while just retaining a bit of the original fit. Very cute!

I love the fabric choice… it gives the dress such a nice structure….

I love it! It looks gorgeous and the colors are adorable! I know how you feel about the hem… a couple of times I have used the selvage so that I wouldn’t have to sew the hem.
