Canary Song

This is my version of McCall’s 5859 in a beeeautiful canary yellow cotton brocade from Britex Fabrics and lined with a navy/tan polka dot silk twill from Tessuti. This jacket came together beautifully, but I did make a few alterations – the most noteworthy being replacing those horrendously puffy sleeves! Holy man! I used my sleeve block instead. Anywho, a joy to both sew and wear – recommend! More deets on el bloggo

Material Notes

Cotton Brocade
Silk Twill

Cotton, Silk

Love your jacket! The colour, leaf-y fabric, the fit – perfect!

Thanks! I almost didn’t see the lining as it was slippery and had made its way to the very back of my stash, but glad I did! Stash busting FTW!

Awe, thank you. I sew A LOT! I think sewing is very much a practical art – you’ve got to just do it and do it a lot to get good and we’re always getting better! How fun :)
