Description

I love large prints and this was fun to cut. I moved the pleats to the side (an idea pinched from crazydavises’s asymmetrical a-line). It is unlined which was a mistake as being heavy material it rides up! Plus the material does not drape nicely. But I am really pleased with the print and its position.

This was also my first go with the zipper foot.

I have no idea what ‘style’ to put so ‘other’ will have to do, unless anyone can enlighten me?

Material Notes

cotton drill from IKEA, black 20cm zip.

    such a coincidence, I bought this fabric on the day I saw you skirt! Nice one, you used the print of the fabric very well!

      Thank you! What are going to make with your fabric? Having felt the fabric yourself you’ll realise it’s a bit heavy for a skirt and although the pleats look nice on a hanger, they balloon out a bit. I might sew them down.

    Nice effect on the front. It looks a bit like a second layer of fabric wrapped around a first layer of black fabric.

    Very nice! I was in Banana Republic today and saw a very similar pattern on a skirt and dress, and I loved it!
