Description

I made a fabric box ages ago and didn’t know what to do with it. I turned it into a carrying case for a play set with an outdoorsy theme. It’s a Christmas present for my nephew. I sure hope he likes it!

Material Notes

case: cotton fabric, plastic mesh (sandwiched between outer and liner), 5 fabric covered metal buttons toy set: felt, wool batting, thread, and embroidery floss. I have one button on the flap on the sleeping bag.

My sister made something very similar from modelling clay (fimo) and an old shoe box. I remember playing with it for hours and hours. I loved it! Ithink your nephew is really lucky to get this and I am sure he will love it. (where is the camping bear?!!)

I am so relieved to hear you had something similar and played with it for hours!

And LOL at the camping bear.

He was there, only he stole the picnic basket and is now hibernating in my scrap box, his belly full of thread sandwiches…….

Very sweet, and creative! If you have the time, maybe you could put a small magnet on the end of the fishing rod and stitch some metal wire on the fish? Just suggesting!

I put a pin on the fishing pole to hold it together/in place for the photo. No, I didn’t use a sewing pin as part of the play set!

Also, he is wearing a bright yellow life jacket. Safety first!
