This is my second shirt, the first I’ve sewn with long sleeves. I used Burda’s Jakob Shirt pattern. I straightened the body cut and hem, then added a more formal placket to the cuff. See my how to for information on the placket. I hate sewing button holes and buttons so used studs on this fabric, which is tough enough for them. I call it his Campfire Shirt, because I envisage he’ll wear it around the campfire next time we’re camping :)

Cheap corduroy that I brought to practice with, studs, thread.
BurdaStyle Jakob Shirt, with my pattern changes and placket pattern. Pam’s “off the cuff” dot com blog for placket inspiration. All the lovely peeps on this site who made, posted and commented on their Jacob shirts before me.

Your creation is amazing. I love the fabric, the pattern and the color. You reach a perfect result. I’m almost graduating in fashion and they focus on women clothes, so i have to congratulate you because of the effort and the final outcome. On top of that you shirt is perfect for camping, ride horses or bikes. I miss that. in my country I used to ride horses, but some day I’ll do it again either Australia or Cuba.
