A friend of a friend asked me to make her prom dress for her, and this is how it turned out!
She made some different style choices than I would have, but you have to work with what the client wants!!
She really wanted the sweetheart neckline on a corset-style bodice. I wanted a wrapped/ruched look in the top to cut down on the glare from the bright orange and blend better into the ruffles in the skirt.
The whole idea of having the sloping hemline also was so she could wear her favorite cowboy boots and show them off. When she found out that they wouldn’t be allowed to take their shoes off at the dance though, she opted for some lighter heels which were cute, but changed the whole look.
She also bought the flat-backed rhinestones, so I couldn’t sew them on. I ended up using a hot glue gun!
Overall, I’m happy with how it turned out. We got lots of stares and comments on how great she looked. The best part is that she loved it and had a great night at the dance!

She modified this coat wonderfully by adding length and changing the pockets and collar
