Description

My friend Tom’s favorite button down shirt refashioned as a pillowcase. I took out the buttons (hard to sleep on!) and sewed down the placket and front pocket. There wasn’t enough material to fold over a hem, so I cut bias strips instead. Making a pillow case is a simple project, but refashioning it from a shirt is a bit trickier.

Material Notes

The entire pillowcase is made from a 100% cotton button down shirt. Super soft!

very cool idea! a fun valentine’s idea for the boys. you could use actual shirting material and instead of a wide open case. you could use the placket off center to make a semi-closed case. even add a pocket, and all that could be the underside of the pillow that doesn’t get slept on. ok, adding this to my inspiration list!!!
