This apple-green drapey top is intended to be a wardrobe builder for me. I have a lot of clothes that go with cheap apple green polyester knit. I cut view C – I like short sleeves because I think they balance my hips.
I found the instructions to be baffling and had to ignore them. It took me a few minutes to figure out the construction, but once I draped it on trusty Amelia, I understood the assembly. I still serged the side on upside down and had to cut and resew. Hooray for seam allowances and stretch! Instead of the self-band to gather the front, I threaded a matching grosgrain ribbon through the holes. It was much easier than sewing a band, I can change the ribbon to change the look, and I lost the stinking band after I cut it out. I reinforced the ribbon holes with matching embroidery floss from my mom’s stash. I finished the hems with my current favorite gadget, the twin needle. I love the result and will definitely wear this top.
