This is my first „order“!
My dear friend Camelia had a 10 years old Zara dress, that she still loved and couldn´t separate from it. She hoped in secret to find one day someone who would be able to copy this dress. The famous tailors in Thailand weren´t able… As she noticed that I began to sew, she smelt her chance… and I accepted the challenge!
So we went together to my favourite fabric store in Vienna and she chose the fabric: a thin fine cotton with butterflies print, together with cotton lining and some lace.
I didn´t want to destroy the original dress, so I copied the pattern as good as I could.
The darts were at the beginning a little geometrical challenge, but this was quickly solved.
The rest went smooth, without problems – the mere pleasure!
At the end the dress is a very little bit too tight, but this is because the prototype is also too tight and my dear friend didn´t want to come for a second fitting – after the first fitting she meant it would be ok and I shall go on.
Anyway, she seems happy with her new dress – and her dog Bella wanted absolutely to appear on the pictures too (but she still needs sunglasses :-))
Well, I also like this dress so much, that now I MUST have one too! Fabric is already bought… and of course I couldn´t resist not to take some pictures with the Camelia-dress, of course for me it is still tighter an shorter – but I feel this length as very comfortable…
