Description

Modified Burda 7232 with self-drafted collar and bow detail and cap sleeves from Simplicity 1652.

I opted to use contrasting fabric on the straps (which later became cap sleeves) and the first “rung” of the latticed back, in addition to some self-drafted details. I also replaced the three button closures recommended by the pattern instructions with a side zip, making my life substantially easier. Unfortunately this resulted in some fit issues. I had to add an awkward dart in the center back to ameliorate gaping at the waist.

Material Notes

Quilting cotton with a wool-blend tweed for contrast.

The contrasting fabric just adds to the dress. It’s lovely on you x
