I made this to wear for my work ball, it was great fun to make and a joy to wear. I used Vintage Bridal Burda pattern 7251 for the top half and self drafted the bottom half from my initial design sketch.
Shot satin, lined with Bemsilk, bodice reinforced with boning

Hi! Lovely dress, I’m working on the same pattern now, I’m only going to use the top but I just can’t seem to get my head around how the layers on the top is made? Do you fold the front pieces 1-4 or is there additional pieces that you add onto the front pieces? Help please!:)

Oh goodness I’m so sorry I haven’t logged on here in a long time! Are you still working on this? I don’t have the pattern on me so I don’t know what pieces you are referring to.If you still need help though I will get them out :)

Totally lovely!! I’m so partial to the butter yellow colour, too – my prom gown was this colour and I’ve also got a cocktail dress I’ve made in this satin, too. You’ve done an amazing job on the pleating a lace!

Simply exquisite! Lovely work! It’s nice to be able to take a part of something that you like and add a bit of your own design to it. Absolutely beautiful work! So….were you the belle of the ball?
