Satin Bustier – BurdaStyle 01/2012 #123
Satin Panties – BurdaStyle 01/2012 #128
More recycling going on, even the elastic lace is from the op shop, lol. I intended to make these two into a swimsuit so I used non-breathable black stretch knit from the op shop which I had lying around handy. With sufficient cross-wise stretch this set is comfy to wear. I sewed it with plain zig zag and I bound the leg edges using bias from the same fabric.
The lace does give it a boudoir look however. I wanted to give contrast panels a try, and as I only had small remnants of peach lace in my vintage stash, I made them feature overlaid just on the centre fronts. The panties stretch quite well in this fabric so they didn’t need the zip I installed, but it looks cool all the same lol.
black possibly nylon cross-wise stretch knit fabric, vintage knit lining for inside panel of panties, plastic separating zip/s, c’70’s neon peach floral lace, vintage neon peach stretch lace elastic, black satin ribbon
What do you think of these summery styles?
