I love making dresses and often get inspired when I have a party or special event planned. But this means most of my dresses are far too dressy to ever wear to work and they end up staying in my closet most of the time.

This one is my very first “work” dress!

The pattern is Simplicity 2648 from the Amazing Fit collection.
I loved making this dress. The instructions were extremely clear. The fun sleeves make the classic style a little more exciting and the princess line is very flattering.

Do you have trouble sewing work-apropriate clothes too?

Love it! Very work appropriate! :)

You asked whether anyone else will have problems sewing work clothes. I don’t think I will. I am teaching myself how to sew so that I may make my work clothes! I am undergoing weight loss surgery and hear one whips through sizes pretty quickly. I just cant afford to buy a new wardrobe for work every few months so I shall learn to take things in and make a few smaller basic garments in smaller sizes ahead of time!

Great work! It looks perfect on you too!

      Thank you!
Yes you’re right to be making your work clothes then indeed! It’s definitely the way to go. Usually I get really creative and like making clothes with big prints and ribbons, lace etc so they’re sometimes a little too “fancy” for my very classic work environment! But I’m working on making my wardrobe more functional ;-)
