An 1860’s inspired corset in burgundy, with black contract boning and black lace trim. The corset also has a modesty panel making it ideal for evening wear. The skirt is full length with a fish tail detail.
This was made for an exhibition last October and was centre piece to my stall. I would love to wear it, but as it is made in an English size 12 (to fit the manniquin) I haven’t a chance.

The corset is made with polyester satin and coutil. The skirt is polyester satin backed crepe.

gorgeous! How did you do the black vertical lines on the boning? I’ve always done mine with ribbon but there must be an easier way :)

The boning casings are made from Black Satin Backed Coutil, cut to 1" wide and pressed using a 1cm bias binding maker. Other ways are to sew ribbon onto Coutil then make into casings. I always use coutil, because of the stresses made by the steels.

Yes I love corsets as well. I have quite a few now, but don’t find time to wear them.
