Burgundy Alexis Remake

Added Jan 31, 2009

by erdronen

Cincinnati, Ohio...

Alexis made from a thrifted wool skirt (see last pic). I made a few changes. I removed the pocket, moved the pleats to the other side, and did the seam by the pleats a bit differently. It’s also fully lined.

This is the first piece for the wardrobe I am going to build for myself. As a resolution for this year, I decided to try and make pieces I would not only wear, but that could be mixed and matched. This way I know I’ll get use out of them!

See more on my blog.

Material Notes

thrifted wool skirt, reused the zipper and lining- the only thing I had to use otherwise was a hook and eye.

The shoes are Payless :)

Garment Type

burdastyle for the pattern! i love it!

I <3 invisible zippers!

Hey, lovely skirt! Neat as usual :). I didn’t like this pattern, maybe because I never saw this skirt made as neat as yours is. Now I really like it :).
