When I got my book I was super excited about the Vintage patterns and how one can modernize it to today, initially I thought about Old Hollywood; red dress with pearls. I used the Elizabeth Gathered-Waist Dress as the initial pattern for the bodice which consisted strapless tube, with princess seams.
The front of the skirt was based on the Elizabeth Gathered-Waist Dress which I wanted more of a drape looked instead of gathered, for the back of the skirt I used Jamie Shift Dress I made the bottom of the dress shorter and layered it to make it into a bubble skirt.
