It was a hard choice, but with overwhelming votes, Jamie Shift Dress in ‘Kaleidoscope Orange’ won the day.
This dress was a fun experiment with color and techniques. As my 3rd ever outfit made, it surpassed my expectations and surprised me with how well it looked.
Influence: 1960s of course! Wanted to channel that psychedelic feel but make it modern. I was worried it would be too overwhelming in color, but the choice to use the print fabric as a simple block triangle and the rest plain orange, was a good one.
~ I made the pattern smaller width wise but kept the arm holes two sizes bigger
~ Cut the front panel into three sections, making the middle triangle a color block
~ Orange Cotton. Cheap and easily wrinkled
~ Kaleidoscope patchwork print. A risky choice
~ Earrings made minutes before photo shoot using white buttons
30 select jacket and coat patterns are now marked down to $3.99.
