My entry for the `BurdaStyle Sewing Vintage Modern Contest 2013` – Option Three: Create your own variation project using one or more master pattern(s) and/or variation project(s) from the BurdaStyle Sewing Vintage Modern book.
For the bodice, I followed the Jackie O dress pattern in the book, that had me change up the pattern for
Louisa Drop-waist dress. I added a hole in the top back, that required a piece of facing there as well. I added darts in the front and the back, mostly following the bodice of the Elizabeth gathered waist dress. I added the hook and eye.
For the skirt, I did a couple inches, shortened version of the Elizabeth Gathered waist dress. I changed it to place an invisible zipper in the back. I also followed the Louisa drop-waist dress’ belt, but had to shorten the length, since I added the darts. I also had to surge the edge of the skirt seam inside, because of the fabric I used.
