This dress was based on the Elizabeth Gathered Waist pattern from the new Burda Vintage Modern book. Not being a big fan of square necklines, I decided to change the neckline to a soft v-style. I then added a squared off Peter Pan collar in a contrasting fabric. I made a leather belt, with contrasting leathers to modernize this adorable 50’s style.
I used a poly-cotton fabric, crenoline for the slip, an invisible zipper and lambskin leather for the belt.

Lovely idea overall. :-))) But there are some mistakes regarding working with chequered fabric: the pattern does not match on the skirt (you can see it along seams connecting front and back parts of the skirt) and the pattern in the upper part of the dress should have been placed simmetrically.
