This is the first project I am uploading to Burdastyle website and I am really excited! I wanted to do this for some time and now came the perfect chance :). I started sewing just almost a year ago and wanted something good to post for first time. As a lover of vintage style clothing, when the book came out I knew I had to get it. The decision of what pattern to make was easy because I promised my best friend a dress for her birthday and her figure reminds me a lot of Twiggy (as you can see from the photos)! So I landed on Jamie Shift Dress and decided to go for a simple black and white design!
The fabric I used was black and white jersey.
Pattern modifications:
1. I did not put a zipper due to the fact that the fabric was stretchy enough to be worn like a blouse.
2. I cut the front dress into two sections (black and white) instead of one.
Construction:
I used a zigzag stitch to sew the whole dress because of the stretchy fabric. I interfaced and placed the facings following the instructions in the book.
I really hope you like it :)
