My new favorite dress to wear! I omitted the sleeves because it’s summer where I am and sleeveless feels much better. I have the French version of BS, but I am a beginner sewer so… thank goodness I can download the digital english version instructions for free from burdastyle.com! Or else all that new sewing vocab can be a but overwhelming. There were no instructions for the top inset, so I just sewed it and ignored the buttons. I also split the front skirt panels in two where the pleats begin because I wanted there to be a bit of contrast in the skirt as well.
I was tempted to omit the zipper since I think I could have pulled this dress over without any openings… but I decided to not risk it and sewed the zipper in anyway.
It is also a good biking dress, FYI, doesn’t ride up too high but has enough space for the legs to pedal.
I wrote more in my sewing journal: http://cathywu.com/journal/treadling/2013/02/03/burda-122012-dress-130/
