Burdastyle’s 2/2014 #116 Dress

My sister’s dress for the baptism was literally a last minute project. My sister came over last weekend, flipped through Burdastyle catalogs, chose a dress design, dug out fabric from my stash, and showed me what she wanted. (However, I highly recommended this pattern. I’ve wanted to make this dress since I first saw it in the Burdastyle catalog in February.)

I’m seeing this dress in a new light. I made this dress too, but on reflection having seen yours, I realise my problem with it was simple; choice of fabric (wrong choice). I’m not going to post my version…..

      That’s a bummer! I can imagine that!
We also chose this fabric because it wasn’t transparent in sunlight and therefore didn’t need lining.

I like this dress too, and am planning to do it some day. You chose the fabric very well: it makes the dress elegant and stylish with some vintage note. Nice.
