I found a copy of the French BurdaStyle, but since I’ve never sewed from French patterns so I decided to start with an easy sleeveless dress. I also sewed this from some incorrectly cut out pieces from a previous project, so I was happy I didn’t completely waste my fabric.
I omitted the lining (too hot here in benin) but decided to make my own bias tape using the pin in iron board method, and it worked perfectly. I liked subtly connecting the top to the dress with the bias tape.
I wrote more about it in my sewing journal: http://cathywu.com/journal/treadling/2012/12/07/burdastyle-122012-dress-110/
