Description
This is from Burda Magazine, their new February 2014 issue. It’s pattern #135. This shirt is a milder version of one of the many garments you can find in all of those Japanese draping books— most of which are sized for petite bodies or aren’t ideal for my figure or lifestyle. Here we have a 3/4 length raglan sleeved top with a fun ‘bag’ or misplaced cowl-like drape on the front.
I used a rayon knit that’s super drapey and so soft. You can see how I graded the pattern to fit me and more photos on my blog Kathy Sews.
I have a tutorial here on how to make the drape in front. It includes how to grade out for larger waist/hips beyond the sizes offered in the pattern.
I have a tutorial here on how to lengthen the top as well since it does run quite short in back.
