Description

Sews up well and the fit is excellent. The details are exactly correct for a trench coat. The instructions however, leave a lot to be desired . . . and figured out on your own. There were even a few things that were dead wrong. If you are advanced level and have an existing trench coat to reference for construction details, this is a good pattern. Otherwise, I would suggest using another pattern entirely. I am very experienced (I have sewn more than one formal gown, including a wedding dress, and dozens and dozens of pieces) and this pattern was very frustrating for me because of the instructions.

Material Notes

100% cotton bottom weight for the exterior. 100% cotton flannel for the lining to add warmth. Wood buttons and leather buckles for finishing details.

Great piece of work. Well done and all those details: WOW. Great flanel lining too.

Absolutely stunning, amazing work! So well done in every detail and the pictures (and the boy) show it off in such a good way, too. I clap for you working your way on your own through the pattern as well. The coat looks like something off the back of Humphrey Bogart in the movie “Casablanca”!

Yeah, Burda patterns do that to you sometimes, then just take a deep breath and do something else until you calm down and approach it again with a relaxed mind :D The coat looks great, and the work is amazing, great job!
