Description
An out-of-print classic published in the early 2000s, and a great shirt pattern. The fancy details of the illustrations obscure the possibility of a nice, straightforward classic shirt. This pattern has deep vertical darts and bust darts (although they are not shown in the diagrams), and is quite shapely. This one has also become a favourite of mine, and I have made a few examples. With luck you might be able to find it on eBay.

I have now made a second version in a teal and black Liberty print. This time I improved the fit by moving the bust darts downwards to coincide with the apex of my bust, and adding extra ease at the sides of the front pieces equal to a larger size. I also added the equivalent amount to the sleeve tissue on the front side, which I tapered to nothing by the elbow to avoid excess fullness at the cuff. The result is an excellent fit and a new favourite shirt.
