My first pair of trousers! Made from a very flowy denim-colored fabric that I got on clearance at Fabric Depot. The ladies working there had no clue what kind of fabric it was, and the bolt did not indicate, either. So! It’s a mystery fabric.
I was originally going to make the “bib” on the front, but I realized that, while it looks great on others, I would just be too self-conscious with it (pentagons on my crotch-area— no thanks).
I simply made a faux waistband instead, and I used some fun buttons from my grandma’s old stash.
I do like the fit! I wish the waist was a bit higher, though. The pantlegs are WIIIIDE, and I am worried they make my short, stubby legs look like Gumby’s.
That said, I would gladly use this pattern again, with some slight modifications. It sewed up very quickly, even with my token, silly mistakes.
mystery fabric! vintage buttons! Oh my!
