Description

this week’s installment of oona does it!
got me all hyped up abut FOOD. buratta cheese, to be exact. i also fell in love with a new (to me) pattern company, “pattern runway”. i used their gathered sundress pattern and it was an absolute treat to work with! i’ve added a link to the pattern in credit notes.

jump on over to the sew weekly for my usual brand of wacko story on the inspiration & making of the dress :)

and a bit of project runway run-in on my blog

Material Notes

this was made with a fairly heavy weight knit jersey, so the soft gathers are more pronounced in this version. the actual pattern calls for lighter fabrics.

Very pretty! I do love the curves on the hips. In fact they closely resemble my first (and only) self-designed coat, I think the lines are the same. I’ll have to check out the pattern company at Etsy!

it is most definitely a losing battle. we had thai food for lunch that day, i don’t think i breathed the whole time, and i brought a scarf to put on the chair. i need my wacko prints back! they hide everything!

Great dress. Simple. But pretty. I think those type of garments work best, because you can dress them up as you please.

i did enjoy the fact that all my bangles went with it! with my crazy prints i usually have to play the match game for 15 minutes at least :)
