This was one of my unfinished projects I kept hidden in my cupboard. When I tried the Zoe pattern it didn’t work out at all – it was too big and it wouldn’t sit on me well.. So I stashed it away and only thought of it again when I attended a pattern drafting course for a few weeks. My teacher helped me to fit the dress – seemingly I have a narrow and / or short back..not what I want to hear :) Later I pepped it up with some colourful applications. I love the colours and cord velvet is such a nice fabric to touch.

Zoe is much better with sleeves! I had to do the same alteration with Zoe and I know that I have narrow shoulders… I suppose narrow shoulders = narrow back, but I really did seem like I would’ve had to have a hump to fill the thing out. And I cut it out in the “right” size too. Thank goodness for grandmothers; she just pinned it in from the top of the zipper and tapered down and all was well when re-sewn that way.

Oh! There’s my favorite green again! And you applique work is just right. What a happy ending this dress had, and it looks terrific on you. Your photo shoots are very entertaining too.

Love your applications!
My Zoe dress is also still lying unfinished in my closet, because it doesn’t fit at all. I’m looking as if I’m pregnant with this dress. So far I wasn’t able to pull myself together and finish it…
