Bullet bra tank top

Added Mar 15, 2010

Seaside, Califor...

I made this tank top to match my mini bloomers from colette patterns. I used a 1940’s bullet bra pattern and then cut a piece of satin to extend it into a tank top, scalloping the ends int he back to be a little more revealing. Then I used buttons as closures (tip: button holes + satin= bad idea!) They work, but they’re sort of ugly.

Material Notes

Butterscotch satin from @ $4.95 a yard! A total deal at 60" wide.

Hey, it took me ages to find this vintage pattern for a bra, they are not easy to come by. I do often keyword searches in google shopping and you might see one pop up every month or so. Sorry I can’t be more help!

Very cute. Next time try wash away stabilizer on the button holes, a complete lifesaver for slippery fabrics.
