Fourth time lucky!! I’ve made this pattern three times unsuccessfully, but finally decided NOT to line the diamond, back and front yolks as it’s a pain to perfect. I didn’t topstitch either (as suggested). The diamond was difficult to set it, but is worth the perserverence (re:unpicking) as it’s a great feature. Looks good with elastic in the hem for a bubble effect (mine came loose while out dancing!). So many possibilities with this pattern..

I really like what you did with this pattern, especially the black inset and yoke! great job, looks fantastic! This is not an especially easy pattern, i have it and i’ve had a lot of trouble with the inset myself, however it is much easier with woven fabrics. I have a great fabric i want to try this pattern with but i’ve been nervous, but you just inspired me. Your hard work payed off…Congrats!

Hey I have this pattern too! I think you did the right thing by not top-stitching the brown panels because it makes the shape stand out. And if you’re going to wear that pendant with the top, a plain background is more suitable.
BTW I used to live in Fitzroy :) I really miss the place.

What a great pattern. The diamond looks very striking with the necklace accessory. Excellent job!
