Simplicity 2865 – Built by You Jersey dress
As soon as I saw this fabric at my LFS I knew i had to make a soft tank dress out of it. Luckily, I had just the pattern in my stash!
I lengthened the torso by 1 " and I’m glad I did. The side inserts now fit exactly over my hips in a way that I think they were meant to. I didn’t lengthen the hem at all.
This was a super satisfying instant gratification project. I bought the fabric on a Thursday, and traced out the patter and modified it on Friday afternoon on the tables at work. I took it home and sewed most of the evening and then finished it up on Saturday afternoon. I serged all the seams and used a small zig zag stitch on my regular machine for the bindings and the hems.
Some cotton blend jersey – Chic Fabrics (39th St), cotton thread.
