Dress #104 from the September 2011 magazine. Graded up to a size 48 in the bodice before adding a 2in full bust adjustment (similar to this one). The waistband and skirt were graded to a size 52.
The material isn’t as sheer as the chiffon used in the magazine garment so I didn’t double face all the pieces as per the instructions. The other changes made included lengthening the lining to create an underskirt for modesty’s sake ;-). I tried out the puff sleeve but it restricted movement too much so the sleeve is just finished with a narrow hem instead.
Cobalt blue poly satin with a matte sheen rather than all out shiny.

I’ve been wanting to make this too, but I hesitated, as I’m more on the plus-size side. Your version looks so fabulous I feel like running out to buy fabric for my own! Thanks for sharing, you look so pretty and the dress suits you extremely well!

Do it! The grading was pretty straight forward… the only thing is that it absolutely eats fabric – I used 3.5 metres and it wasn’t quite enough.

lovely! I like it more than the magazine photo, too :)
