Brown Wool Cape with Scarf

Added Dec 3, 2013

Minneapolis, Min...

I love that this cape is both classic and stylish.

I purchased this brown Pendelton wool almost 20 years ago waiting for the “right project.”
I only had 4 yards, so cut on the “hemline” to save an inch or two on each piece.

I also added shoulder pads to provide some much needed shaping.

My husband noted if I had used the lining fabric for the scarf also, it would have been “even better”. Of course this was after I had already completed the cape! Something to consider should I happen to make another version in the future!

Material Notes

Outer Fabric: 100% Wool
Lining: 100% Polyester

Nice cape! Glad to hear I’m not the only one that has fabric for even longer, waiting for just the right project!

This is fabulous. I have made this as well. I’m just waiting on a good day to take photos. I like that the scarf’s the same colour as the coat. I feel using the lining as a scarf would limit the colours you can wear on the bottom if you know what i mean?? You can wear anything with the all over shade including patterned fabric . Fab x
