So this is my Danielle! I really liked the fabric Burdastyle used for the Danielle, but this brown crushed velvet was all I could find, I like it though. My choice of fabric became my fate. This is not only velvet, but also a very flowing fabric, so the layers were wandering like magic! I had to baste everything and that not even guaranteed, that the layers would stay where they are! I had to rip open so much seams! But the struggle is finished and I won, muhaha ;) I love this dress and really like how it turned out!

I felt sigh of relief when I read in your description you had the same problem with wandering layers and felt the joy of ripping seams :D

Awesome! I’d love to make one in brown or black velvet too! Here’s hoping it comes out halfway as good as yours.

Beautiful! Great scenery. I can’t wait to get up some better pics of my designs. Right now my camera got left behind at my mom’s so I need to get over there and then get busy on some pictures. Your creations are perfect!

You did such a good job, velvet is very hard to manage in every way.

Beautiful result. Glad you persevered with the difficult fabric. Sometimes basting every little thing is the only way.

You have made this pattern very sophisticated, I think the velvet looks great, it can be so hard working with fabrics that stretch and pull on the seam all the time so congratulations on making it work! hoorah!

Your Danielle is so beautiful. Well done on sticking with the project, this dress is so delightful. If it were mine I’d be wearing it until the fabric eventually became threadbare.
