Description

I bought the fabric for this dress nearly a year ago now. I started the dress to wear to a wedding last August and didn’t manage to get it done in time. Then I had another push last month for a 30th birthday party and failed. Finally last week I managed to finish it. Now I just need a party to go to.

I love the finished dress. It partly took so long as I added a lining. This was sewn into the french seams in the bodice and then french seams sewn seperately for the fashion fabric and the lining in the skirt. I’m planning on making this pattern again in a more friendly jersey fabric.

Material Notes

printed silk charmeuse brown silk lining

Don’t you just hate the “unfinished pile”? Thankfully mine isn’t too big and I’m going to try and make sure it stays that way :) Your dress is beautiful and flatters you well. Great fabric choice and I love the neck-line.

Firstly, You must add a photo of the top of the dress! The fabric is sooo beautiful and the pattern suits the fabric with the vintage-y feel. The top of your dress looks a little deco, like the fabric.

Great job! Congratulations on getting it done…I have a few of those in the draw myself ;-)
