I learned how to sew about a month ago and have been dying to make something. So a couple days ago I borrowed my mother-in-law’s sewing machine and made myself a dress using Maryy’s design for the hot hot heat dress. I was originally going to put buttons on it, but then decided they weren’t necessary, so I just sewed some buttons on the back for decoration. I also decided to do pleats instead of a gathered skirt, and I added some straps. It’s not perfect, but for my first real attempt at making clothing, I’m proud of it.

You must be so pleased about how well your dress came out on the first try, and it fits you so perfectly. I really like the pleats you added to the front, and the buttons on the back too.
